Save Our Stages Fest is a three-day virtual benefit festival, that was held from oct. 16-18, 2020, with artists and organizations rallying to the aid of the independent music venues at risk of closing their doors permanently.

small stages make big stars

covid-19 forced independent music venues across the country to close their doors, and some even to shut down. without help, 90% of the music venues would close in 6 months or less. with venues shut, at-home live streams were exploding on YouTube as artists looked for new ways to communicate with fans.

youtube and the National Independent Association (NIVA) teamed up to supercharge the #SaveOurStages movement, and produced a three-day benefit festival that included original performances and commentary from diverse talent across genres. it was shot live at iconic indie stages, and brought the fans at home to the music venues.

the #SOSFest aimed to preserve our nation’s independent live music venues, and raised funds for NIVA’s Emergency Relief Fund, and the featured diverse range of artists with broad appeal, who are passionate about supporting historic stages, helped in securing 15 Billion Dollars in grants from the US government.

folklore: a short series

we also created a short series of short films sharing the unsung stories of america’s independent venues called Folklore. venues take center stage as they are celebrated as living legends of culture, tradition, and community. in the spirit of folklore, our storytellers pass down the stories of years spent on stage and back stage in these sacred spaces.
